Earth X 10?

I posted this over on Whizzer, but I figured I'd ship it over here for discussion.

I broke down and bought Earth X 10. I was confused as hell, since I don't read that book. But Kurtlasco was naaasty and had a hell of a tic in one eye to boot. In that last panel he does look like Kurt though, I'm sure that was intentional.

Okay, now somebody explain what the heck is up with that world. I get that it's apparently an alternate future, but I'm soooo confused. What's the premise? And whyfor is Thor a girl?!

Well I haven't been reading the series, but I'll comment because I'm bored:

Why ask why? It's just an alternate reality. I think it's a really depressing one, but that's just me. That eye twitch sounds like a Kurt-thing, though. I've noticed that he seems to have this twitchy eye on occasion when he's ticked off.

Like when Iceman interupts his yoga session. Well that was a thouroughly gratuitious post, but like I said, I'm really bored.

yes, very depreesing.........kurts actullly dead in this reality .......something along the lines of, 'he finally recived his fondest wish, he became human and then was killed by a mob becuase he was soo' >
i read only the first couple issues....then proceeded to be very morbid...so i quit.

and i think thors a girl becuase he diobyed odin in some respect as this was somemore mischef on loki's part...mm mischef.

Yup, Wonderlass, it implies what you think it does. In that world, Belasco is Kurt altered and brainwashed by Mephisto. Fun for him. They say that's why he tortured the X-Men all the time, because he unconsciously knew he was one of them and wanted them to save him.

I've leafed through the graphic novel and I know it's an alternate reality thing, like AoA, but what I really wanted to know is what is the premise of that reality? Are demons in charge? Mephisto? I know there was a Mar-Vell in regular continuity, but who's this kid and what's up with him that he seems to know everything that's going on? Gah! I know I'll never buy another one, but I was just curious.

Oh well.
